BRT Network Nairobi

Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, is one of the fastest growing metropolises in the world and is characterised by significant traffic congestion throughout the city. The current public transport system shares the road network with private transport and is therefore very inefficient.

On behalf of the Kenyan Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, PB Consult together with JBG and ETC, planned an efficient transport system that includes a network-adapted minibus transport system (Matatus) in addition to urban rail and BRT. On this basis, an express bus line (Jogoo Road Corridor) was planned in detail using microscopic traffic simulation.
