New mobility hub on the Elbe island of Veddel to drive forward the transport revolution in Hamburg

Together with the general planning team led by the renowned architecture firm JSWD from Cologne, PB Consult has been commissioned to plan and supervise the transport facilities for the new electric bus depot in Hamburg's Veddel district.

The ZUSAMENHUB - everything under one roof - will not only house electric buses, but will also become the hub for mobility and many other services in the south of Hamburg. Located directly next to the ‘Veddel’ S-Bahn station, the new ZUSAMMENHUB will offer numerous mobility options integrated into the site. In addition to the bus and S-Bahn connections, there will be hvv switch points for car sharing, ridepooling and the StadtRAD as well as 600 Bike+Ride parking spaces. Commercial space for shopping facilities and services is also to be created for local residents. In order to fulfil all these requirements, the bus depot will be built over four storeys.

JSWD Architekten won a Europe-wide design competition for the design of the ZUSAMMENHUB, in which they were able to score points for sustainability and the use of recycled concrete.

PB Consult is planning the transport facilities for the three buildings - the bus interchange, bus depot and commercial unit.
